Hi! Happy Saturday!
This week was one of those weeks. All those in favor of having a second Christmas break say “I.” ?
But anyway, truth time: I’ve been considering getting a little more personal on the blog…is that something you guys would be interested in? Or are you guys satisfied with only my recipes and crazy antics? Don’t worry; the majority of my posts would still be recipes! Just with a sprinkling of personal stuff here and there. Let me know!
One of my favorite bloggers, Jessica, did a post like this a while back, and I loved the simplicity of the set-up. I thought something like this would be a nice way to ease into the whole “getting personal” thing. Just a quick and easy “check-in” of what’s going on behind the scenes of Fooduzzi.
reading: no books!! I have so many books lined up on my bookshelf, but I can honestly say that by the time I’m done working/blogging, I’m too pooped to read anything. It’s ridiculous because reading was one of my very favorite things to do when I was younger. Next on my list: It Was Me All Along. Has anyone read it? I CAN’T wait to start.
I have been reading blogs, however. Not sure if you guys knew or not, but last week was National Eating Disorder Week. There have been so many inspiring stories of hope floating around recently… I’m in absolute awe of the courage these bloggers show by sharing their stories in the hopes of helping others.
eating: more popcorn than I thought possible. I’m absolutely horrible at packing lunches for work, so I honestly just grab a bunch of snacks and head out the door. Perhaps we can call it a “deconstructed bento box” so it sounds a little less pathetic than it actually is? It’s the worst. BUT. I always manage to pack a giant container of my favoritefavoritefavorite popcorn, SkinnyPop. {use their popcorn in this recipe!}
Also…happy mistake: I accidentally bought honeycrisp apples instead of my normal Fujis at Aldi last night. So my day has been full of honeycrisp goodness. Oops?
planning: I have so many possible blog plans in the works that I can’t wait to gush about if they actually work out. Keep your fingers crossed! I think you’ll be happy :)
drinking: so.much.coconut.la croix. Friends, I have such an addiction to this stuff. I know it’s super hipster to love La Croix, but I do. I so do. I’m one of those people who just won’t drink water throughout the day unless I’m actively thinking about it. This stuff makes it so much easier.
Also, this green tea from Costco is my favorite. No morning is complete without a huge mug full of this stuff.
struggling: staying active. Or rather, becoming active. I seriously fell out of the whole working out thing as soon as I graduated college, and I haven’t been able to jump back on the bandwagon since. I tried yoga, but it didn’t really click for me. So I’m anxiously waiting for the weather to break so that Mark and I can take long walks by the river.
making: oh my goodness, guys. I have SO many recipes that I want to make for you. Healthy Gluten Free and Vegan Brownies have been the bane of my existence for the past few months; I’ve tried so many times to make the perfect recipe, but they’ve ended up grainy and freaky. Not good eats. BUT I think I’ll be able to pound out a recipe for you real soon.
I’m also toying around with some more easy breakfast and dinner recipes. Don’t get me wrong: I lovelovelove making desserts for you guys, so those will be coming, too. I’ve also been loving the whole copycat recipe thing! I’d be thrilled to take requests below in the comments!
wondering: how food blogging entrepreneurs do it. I’m in constant awe of the bloggers that are doing the very thing I dream of doing every single day. There are so many ups and downs…it’s incredible how they can keep their poise and dedication through it all.
Also wondering why Maya likes to sit in our pasta pot so much…
wearing: so, can I be frank with you for a sec? Most of my favorite clothing comes from…Costco. Yep. I found this black long-sleeved sweater a couple weeks ago, and I’ve already worn it more than most of the other shirts in my closet. I’m OBSESSED. I love pairing it with a cozy colorful scarf!
deciding: how to make Fooduzzi better for you. I’ve said this before, but I really do run Fooduzzi for you. Yes, I love this little chunk of the internet to pieces, but Fooduzzi wouldn’t be anything without you. There were a few reasons why I ended up starting Fooduzzi in the first place, but helping you make delicious and healthy meals and desserts has always been at the very forefront. I’d love to get some input from you in the comments below!
loving: Coming home to Maya running to the door as soon as she hears my keys. Making Mark coffee in the morning. Remaking these, this, and these for dinner. Being an adult. Bota Box wine. Blood Orange Mojitos. Weekends. Peanut butter. And you.
Life is good, friends. Life is good. ❤️

I second another Christmas break! I’m counting down the days until our spring break— work certainly has been crrrazyyy lately. Please do more of these wonderful posts— I love when bloggers get personal because it makes them feel like real actual people that I am totally friends with (if just through a screen haha!). Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us :)
