Woah woah woah! It’s a life post!
I’m here to catch you up on everything that’s been going on behind the scenes of Fooduzzi!
In all honesty, I love when bloggers do these sorts of posts. I mean, recipes are always fun. But every once in a while, I love getting that little glimpse into the lives of the bloggers I follow.
Perhaps I’m just nosey. I’m totally nosey. But I still think these types of posts are a good way to switch things up a bit! So friends, let’s dooo deeees.
eating: My breakfast go-to has been a blueberry smoothie bowl. I’m.so.obsessed. I never really understood the whole smoothie bowl craze until I actually manned up and made one and omg. I throw this Lemon Chia Seed Granola on top and it pretty much makes my day.
Snack-wise? Currently obsessed with watermelon straight from the fridge, Trader Joe’s peanut butter (it’s SO salty and I love it), orange juice (from Aldi), Mark’s dad’s homemade salsa, and these roasted chickpeas. I love that they’re organic, packed with protein, and super duper convenient. Yes, making your own roasted chickpeas is super simple. BUT. It’s summer. And I don’t want to turn on the oven unless I absolutely have to.
For dinner, Mark and I can’t stop making this Black Bean Ceviche with avocado thrown in for good measure. I just bought a 5-lb. bag of limes from Costco the other day, so I can’t see this obsession dying down any time soon. We’re also totally into grilled veggies at the moment (I have this grill pan from IKEA and LOVE it), and I showed one of my favorite marinades on Snapchat the other day – balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard, olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and a wee bit of honey. Everything caramelizes so beautifully and becomes so.much.yum.
Dessert? I been loving dipping my spoon into this Cocoa + Coconut Almond Butter whenever that sweet craving strikes! It tastes like if Nutella + coconut butter had a delicious love child. So so good. Also, this cookie cake. Because when do I not want cookie cake?
planning: I want to be planning a nice little weekend getaway with Mark sometime soon. After planning for our move and getting situated in our new place, I just want to take a second to chill with my guy. Any suggestions of places we could go around the Pittsburgh area? Even if it’s just a day trip! I want to hear your thoughts!
drinking: I just can’t quit the cold brew. I was a huge coffee drinker through high school and most of college until one day when my heart started racing from the caffeine. I swore off the stuff for the longest time. But now? I’ve rediscovered this long-lost love, and it feels so good. I love it with a large splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk!
And Coconut La Croix! Always with the Coconut La Croix.
struggling: I’m struggling keeping myself ahead when it comes to blogging. AND I’m struggling with recipe ideas! So if you’re interested in seeing something fun and/or funky on Fooduzzi in the next few months, please let me know! Taking all requests now.
making: My bed! Ha. I promised myself that once we moved into the new place that I’d try really hard to keep things cleaned up: making my bed every morning, putting the dishes away in the kitchen…basically not being the human tornado I can often times be. Four days in and we’re going strong!
feeling: So thankful for you. You wouldn’t believe how over-the-moon I feel when I see you making my recipes. Look at all of these beautiful creations! My heart is so full, you guys.

reading: I read most of Michael Pollan’s In Defense of Food during my vacation a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it! It’s definitely a dense read, but it’s an oh-so fascinating look into the food world.
I’m also slowly making my way through The War of Art. It’s so eye-opening and introspective, so you kinda need to take it piece by piece. It’s one of those books that completely applies to literally everyone and anyone; I can’t recommend it enough!
missing: Having a margarita at the beach.
wondering: What’s going to be the newest and craziest pumpkin spiced product this year. I’d be amazed if they can top last year – I remember pumpkin spice chips and salsa being a thing back in good ol’ 2015. *insert eye-rolling emoji here*
wearing: ALL the dresses! I’m not a shorts person at all in the summertime. So any time I have to be in front of people, I’m wearing a dress. I’m particularly loving this one from Old Navy!
deciding: If I want to start…vlogging. Is this something you guys would be interested in? I’ve recently become obsessed with Lauren Toyota’s channel, and I’d love to do something similar (with my own little Fooduzzi flair, of course!). Because I work from home, I don’t really talk to anyone during the day, so I think it would be super fun to actually talk to you guys on YouTube! Thoughts?!
loving: So many things at the moment! But three things in particular:
Our new apartment. I don’t think a day has gone by yet where Mark and I haven’t looked at each other and said, “Wow, we love this apartment.” We have a cute little deck, a glass sliding door that Maya just loves, a beautiful living room, a giant photography prop drawer, and a myriad of other perfect things. We’re so tickled with this new place I can barely stand it.
My Moleskine planner. I realize I work solely in front of the computer and that there are hundreds of different calendar/planner apps and websites available. But. For me? Nothing has worked better than a good ol’ pen and paper. The Moleskine planner was a bit expensive, but I’m pretty much obsessed with it.
Mark & Maya. Always.

So, what do you think? Have any recipe ideas? Want me to start vlogging?! Tell me what you’re eating or reading or loving at the moment <3

Please start vlogging!! And I’m glad I am not the only human tornado when it comes to my apartment being a disaster of things everywhere. Sometimes I don’t even know how it happens. But keep up that neat streak!!

Haha! I’m glad you’re interested in the vlogging! I’ll keep you updated :) And I’m sorry to report that my neat streak has definitely ended, but I’m trying and that’s what counts…right?!

Ok— places to visit around the burgh— I’ve heard Harpers Ferry is amazing (lots of hiking, nature, history, etc) and I think it’s about a 3 hour drive. Also, have you seen Falling Water yet?? Great day trip!
Loveeee that Barney Butter too! Definitely my favorite kind of almond butter, hands down. And also loving your prop drawer ;) Totally necessary! So glad to hear the move went well girlie!

Ahh I haven’t been to Falling Water, but Mark has and loved it! That’s a great idea :)

Alexa i am looking for a good planner. How do you think Moleskine is
I want a visible sort of everything written in my planner
Cant be online with apps for planning with all those synch issues
Love your prop collection
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Hey, Smitha! I love my Moleskine a little too much ;) It was definitely on the more expensive side, so I think you could probably find a similar one that costs less. But I was in a rush to get one, and that was the only one the store sold. BUT I do love being able to physically write everything down. Highly highly recommended!

I did look for moleskine planner and they appeared to be not serving india. Luckily i got a moleskine planner through amazon. Worth investing in it

Oh awesome, Smitha! I hope you’re loving it. I’m still obsessed with mine!
