To be completely honest, this is the second time I’ve posted a “peanut butter egg” recipe. The first one was Y-E-A-R-S ago, and I used a few different ingredients (most notably: oat flour).
I also made my own chocolate? Why? I have no idea.
This recipe is much simpler, just as delicious, and customizable based on a few simple swaps!

It’s hard to believe that just 365 days ago we were right here, ooh-ing and ahh-ing over yet another chocolate and peanut butter-filled recipe.
As well as 730 days ago.
And 1095 days ago.
AND 1460 days ago.
And just… a lot of other days ago as well.

It’s thicker than a pudding, creamier than a mousse, and less gelatinous than a custard.
So I went with pot de creme, which Wikipedia says means, “‘pot of custard’ or ‘pot of cream’, which also refers to the porcelain cups in which the dessert is served.”
Technically, I served this recipe in some jars. But “jars de creme” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, you know?

I know loving your own birthday is kinda one of those things that’s not very “adult”, but I do. So very much. I have off from work, I get to do what I want, I get to eat what I want, I get to spend time with my loved ones, and it’s always just a really good day.
It’s also an extra special day because… it’s also Fooduzzi’s birthday!
Yep. Seven (seven!!) years ago today, baby Alexa was pressing publish on her very first blog post and making her readers feel like they were truly immersed in a bowl of oatmeal with her lack of photography skills.
And each year since then on December 18, we celebrate in the best way I know how: with peanut butter and chocolate.

That happened to me last week: my co-worker (Katie!) jumped on a meeting with me, and she was munching on some peanut butter-stuffed pretzel nuggets.
I love peanut butter, and I love pretzels, so it should come as no surprise that I completely and totally adore peanut butter-stuffed pretzel nuggets. I used to eat them a lot as a kid, but I hadn’t had them in years.
Well, friends. I’m happily well on my way through my second bag in a week. A gloriously tasty week.

I love my birthday. I know it’s not very “adult” to love your own birthday, but I always have and probably always will.
But for the past five years (FIVE!), my birthday has been extra special.
And that’s because December 18 is the day Fooduzzi and I get one year older!
