You guys are…adorable.
I posted this vegan ricotta recipe a week or so ago, and I’ve had quite a few of you freak over the crackers I photographed with it.
Well, today is the day, folks! The day of delicious crackering.
When I get hungry, 9 times out of 10 I get hungry for something crunchy. I don’t really crave flavors (I mean, sometimes I do. Because cookies.), but a lot of the time I just crave crunch.
That’s why apples are one of my favorite foods, why I just can’t say no to tortilla chips and salsa, and why I need to have a mountain of granola on my smoothie bowls.
There’s just something so satisfying about a crunch.
Especially when paired with delicious dips! You guys know I love my dips, but I have yet to post a recipe for a…dipping vessel. Until today!
Vegan Garlic Herb Almond Flour Crackers to the rescue!
I love how easy this recipe is, making it perfect for whenever that crunchy craving strikes!
You’ll take some almond flour (my fave!), ground flax (so good!), and water (woo!), and mix mix mix.
Then you’ll add the seasoning. Granulated garlic (yum yum!), dried oregano (oh yes!), pepper (a necessity!) and salt (two ways!). I really like adding flaky salt on top of these crackers for texture and extra crunch, but you can skip it if you wanna.
As for serving suggestions? The. World. Is. Your. Oyster. Here are some of my personal faves:
- Thai Peanut Hummus
- Pesto Hummus
- Vegan Cheese Plate
- Healthy Buffalo Chickpea Dip
- Vegan French Onion Dip
- Addictive Smoky Black Bean Dip
- Healthy Spinach Artichoke Dip
- Vegan Queso Hummus
- Cheesy Cauliflower Dip
Plus literally any dippable substance ever. I love these crackers!
They’re crunchy, yet soft, and I can’t get over that flavor! Yum yum. Suh good.
Vegan Garlic Herb Almond Flour Crackers
Prep: | Cook: | Yield: ~1 and 1/2 cups crackers | Total: |
Make crunchy, delicious crackers at home in 30 minutes! Naturally gluten free and vegan, and super simple to make!
You'll Need...
- 1 cup almond flour (spooned and leveled)
- 1 Tbsp. flax meal
- 3/4 tsp. granulated garlic
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- salt+pepper
- 2.5 Tbsp. water
- flaky salt for topping, optional
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add almond flour, flax meal, granulated garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to a mixing bowl. Mix to combine. Add water, and mix until the mixture becomes one wet ball of dough.
- Pour the dough out onto your parchment-lined baking sheet and shape into a flat circle. Add another sheet of parchment paper on top and roll the dough out into about 1/8-inch thickness.
- Remove the top sheet of parchment and cut your crackers - squares, triangles, circles, etc. -, and separate them so that none of the crackers are touching. I cut mine using a pizza cutter! Sprinkle with flaky salt if desired, and press it into the crackers slightly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until desired doneness - I really prefer these crackers on the lighter side. Allow your crackers to cool on the baking sheet, then move them to an air-tight container.

I am allergic to almonds can I use any gluten free flour?
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Hi, Sherie! You might be able to use oat flour. I haven’t tried it, but it may work! Let me know if you give it a try :)

I am also allergic to oatmeal as well, I have severe allergies to many foods, :( I can use buckwheat, rye, barley will any of those work? Thank you so much for your response!

Buckwheat might work! I’ve never used it before, but I’d love to try! If I do, I’ll be sure to report back :)

If I don’t have flax meal, will an egg work? Or applesauce or yogurt?
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Hi! Not sure if applesauce or yogurt would work (it might make the mixture too wet). An egg might work, but you could also try subbing in ground chia! Let me know how it goes :)

My dough was super crumbly is that normal? I measured everything perfectly. Im wondering if there is a difference between homemade almond flour and store bought? I’ve been recently making my own almond milk and saving the leftover pulp and dehydrating it to use as flour. None of my recipes have been coming out very well….. Any thoughts??
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Hey, Kimberly! I definitely think it could have been the homemade almond flour. I use Bob’s Red Mill’s almond flour which is ground pretty fine. Perhaps your flour was a little too coarse? Or maybe too dry? I’m really not sure because I haven’t made homemade almond flour from leftover pulp before. :/
Kyla says
I also use the dehydrated pulp from making nut milks. To use them in recipes you usually have to add back in some fat and sometimes some protein, which is what’s coming out of the nuts when you’re making the milks. For this recipe I added 1 tablespoon of earth balance and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. You could also probably omit the earth balance and add extra flax meal as it has both fat and protein. Then I let the dough sit for a while to let it absorb the liquid and make sure it wasn’t too crumbly before rolling it out and baking it off. Hope this helps!
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Oh that’s super helpful! Thanks so much, Kyla :)

These are EASY AND AMAZING crackers. I will making them again and again and again. I used my new bag of mixed of Superseeds hemp, chia and flax and mixed it with the almond flour. I added some sea salt on top and they were delicious. Thanks for sharing the recipe. I also posted a picture of mine that I did in one big piece so you can take as much or as little and you want.
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
SO so happy you love these crackers! You just reminded me to make some more again. :)
Laura says
Can you make these in a dehydrator instead of the oven? Thanks!
