WINTER IS COMING AND I AM READY.
And, of course, I’m talking about the one, the only…Game of Thrones.
Hi, I’m Alexa, and I am a Game of Thrones-o-phile.
An Arya aficionado. A Davos devotee. A mother of dragons maniac. A Bronn buff. A lover of Lannisters.
Between screaming, “CLEGANE BOWL: CONFIRMED” to Mark every day to rewatching the entire series through for the third time, my body, my heart, my soul is ready for the final season.
I mean, kind of. I’m going to be ever-so-slightly devastated when it’s over. But if it’s even a 1/3 of how…intense I’m thinking it’s going to be, it’s going to certainly go out with a bang.
So I wanted to get us all ready for the big ol’ premiere with a set of delicious and decadent drinks spiked with the strong stuff.
Yes, my friends. Game of Thrones cocktail recipes. FOUR to be exact. Just for you and your final season watching party pleasure.
And they’re easy. I’m so not a cocktailologist…or mixologist or whatever. If I can do this, you can certainly do this. Pinky promise.
And! For fun, I created the four different cocktails with four of the main houses / groups in mind – Lannister, Targaryen, Stark, and the White Walkers.
We know that one of them need to win. Right? RIGHT? I have no idea. Regardless, choose your fave, the one you hope ends up sitting on the Iron Throne at the end, and drink up.
The Debt Payer Sangria – House Lannister
I have a love-hate relationship with the good ol’ Lannister house.
I love Tyrion’s strategic mind and wittiness. I love Jaime’s character arc and kind heart. I weirdly love the insanity that is Cersei Lannister.
However. They are the Lannisters. Easily one of the most ruthless, cunning, and cruel houses in Game of Thrones.
Regardless of how you feel about the Lannisters, you’ll love this simple sangria I’m dubbing, “The Debt Payer.” Because, you know, a Lannister always pays his debts.
Filled with rich red wine (for Cersei, obv), golden fruits, and just a hint of sweetness, this is the perfect drink for ye who can attest to Tyrion’s, “I drink and I know things” mindset.

You know how it goes: A Lannister always pays his debts. I bet all of your debts will be paid in full once you make this sangria.

The Breaker of Chains Cinnamon Whiskey Coffee – House Targaryen
The Targaryens are pretty much everyone’s favorite house, right?
Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons…is quite the bad@$$.
(If the name wasn’t proof enough, our floof’s middle name is Khaleesi)
And in honor of everyone’s favorite house…my new favorite cocktail.
Do you really need to add whiskey and cinnamon simple syrup to your coffee? Why yes. Yes you do. Especially when it’s named, “The Breaker of Chains.”
Bonus: this cocktail is sure to keep you up until the 9:00pm premiere.

The You Know Nothing Dark and Stormy – House Stark
All hail the King of the North, amirite?
There’s no more fitting cocktail for our favorite brooding “good guy” than a Dark and Stormy.
Instead of rum, I decided to go with a stout! For no other reason than a stout sounded more “Starky” than rum did. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Regardless, if you’re #TeamStark ( ?), you’ll love this You Know Nothing cocktail.
A word of warning: don’t drink too many or you really will know nothing.

The Army of the Dead Blueberry Gin Fizz – White Walkers
We have to acknowledge the bad guys, right?
You know. The mysterious ice creatures with the piercing blue eyes who can turn people into an army of zombie-like dead people just by raising their hands?
I figured The Army of the Dead would be the perfect cocktails for these grumpy guys.
Blueberry simple syrup, gin, rosemary, a squeeze of lemon juice, and seltzer water.
Totally turned me into a gin lover, much like the Night King turns Craster’s sons into White Walkers.
Too far? Probs. Regardless, it’s suh good.

And that is that, my friend! It’s shaping up to be quite the final season of GOT, eh?
And I’ve been dying to ask you: How do you think it’s going to end?! I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be a complete and total bloodbath each and every episode, but we shall see!

This is the COOLEST post girl! My husband is a Games of Thrones addict too, so I always end up watching most of the episodes with him – you know – just because :) I am all about that Blueberry Gin Fizz — I may just have to whip that up so that I make it through the intensity that I KNOW the first episode will be!!
