It’s funny how some words are total turn-offs for people.
Like “moist.” I don’t get it, but some people just recoil at the mention of this five-letter phenomenon. Hopefully I didn’t lose you already. I pinky-promise that I’ll never say it again.
My mother, on the other hand, is turned off by the words “Arnold Palmer.” Not because she’s iced tea-and-lemonade-adverse or because she hates the game of golf. No, she literally cannot say these two words in conjunction with one another.
Her version sounds something like “Arnold Parmel.” I kid you not. Something deep within her very being simply prohibits her from pronouncing the words “Arnold” and “Palmer” together.
I adore that hot mess.
Arnold Palmers have always been the ultimate summertime drink; the perfect combination of iced tea and lemonade is just so darn refreshing against the heat of that summer sun. Those pre-canned Arnold Palmers are full of refined ingredients that are so not welcomed into my summertime plans. This Arnold Palmer, on the other hand, is naturally-sweetened and comes in a green variety…green tea, to be exact. My Green Tea Arnold Palmer is a favorite at my house, and I know it will be a hit at yours!
I’m convinced that this Green Tea Arnold Palmer is, quite literally, “perfection in a glass” because of how we’re going to treat our lemons. We’re using the juice and the zest of our lemons today! This gives us so much more depth of flavor; the zest is so aromatic and releases the lemon’s essential oils, while the juice is tart and a little sweet. Lemon is the epitome of summer flavor, and it sure shines through in this Green Tea Arnold Palmer.
Next, we’re getting some sweetness from honey. I love raw honey for its nutritional benefits, but feel free to use whatever kind you like. Honey is a delicious (and natural!) sweetener in hot tea, why not use it in this iced variety?
Last, we’ll need one bag of green tea. My all-time favorite green tea comes from…Costco. Yep. Their green tea-matcha blend is my go-to tea and perfect for this Green Tea Arnold Palmer! The added matcha really brings home a powerful green tea flavor that I haven’t found replicated in another brand. That being said, if you do not have access to a friendly neighborhood Costco, your favorite green tea will do just fine. I love using green tea here, as opposed to the typical black tea, for it’s antioxidants. This Green Tea Arnold Palmer will be keeping us healthy and hydrated this summer!
Guys. The flavor of this Green Tea Arnold Palmer: pure perfection. It’s tart, slightly sweet, and earthy for a perfectly refreshing pick-me-up. No matter how you say it, this Green Tea Arnold Palmer is bound to become your new summertime drink-o-choice!
