So, it’s 8:00 Wednesday night (about an hour and a half away from my bedtime…yes, really), and I’m just starting this post now.
Usually I’m pretty good about planning out my posts, editing the photos, writing the narrative, crossing my Ts, dotting my Is… but something happened this week that has pretty much eliminated any chances of me being productive whatsoever.
The Game of Thrones Season 6 Trailer.
It kind of totally cracks me up that I’m as excited for this show as I am. If you would have told me a year ago that I’d stay up until the wee hours of the night watching prediction videos and reading the backstories on all of the characters, I would have straight up laughed in your face. GoT just never seemed that interesting to me. I’ve always been a more Gilmore girls, Parks & Recreation, and Chuck kind of gal. Game of Thrones is so not…that.
So it makes sense that I didn’t start watching this show all on my own accord. In fact, I owe my GoT obsession to Mark. He ended up watching the entire series while I was away at training for work last summer, so when I came back, he was excited to introduce me to the ridiculously crazy, yet totally addictive, world of Westeros.
While I do love the storyline (Mark covers my eyes during all of the violent parts), I think my favorite part about GoT is the fact that it’s something that I only do with Mark. It’s our “thing.” We are the Game of Thrones couple.
It makes me smile that Mark ended up introducing me to something that I would have never, in a million years, tried out by myself. The same goes for Zelda. If it wasn’t for Mark, I would still be calling the guy in the pointy green hat “Zelda.” ?
I think it’s awesome that we have that sort of give-and-take. He introduces me new hobbies, and I, being the good little food blogger that I am, introduce him to new foods. The first night I whipped up my “famous” Thai Peanut Sauce, Mark totally flipped his lid. It’s now a weekly dinner staple.
And, of course, after living with a health food blogger for almost a year, Mark has adjusted to hummus making an appearance at pretty much every meal.
Thus, much like the fusion of Mark’s peanut sauce-obsessed self and my hummus-addicted self, a fusion of these two flavors seemed appropriate. Nay, necessary. Thai Peanut Hummus is a complete and total necessity.
Like any hummus, our base starts with some protein-packed chickpeas! But the similarities between traditional hummus and this here Thai Peanut Hummus pretty much stop there. Hold your horses, friends. Things are about to get a little unorthodox up in hurr.
Instead of the tahini (aka. sesame seed paste) found in a typical hummus recipe, we’re using peanut butter! If I’m being completely honest with you, I constantly search for ways to throw peanut butter into pretty much anything. So peanut butter hummus was bound to happen eventually. I know it may sound a little weird, but trust me. It adds juuuust the right amount of rich savoriness to this hummus!
Add in some flava by way of Sriracha, ginger, and garlic, and some texture with peanuts, green onion, and cilantro, and friends…you’ll have a heaping bowl of your newest snack obsession on your hands!
AND…the best part? The beauty of a homemade hummus is that it’s almost as simple to make as it is to pick up at the store!
Dump-blend-devour. Ahh, simplicity is bliss.
Nay, Thai Peanut Hummus is bliss. ❤️
PrintThai Peanut Hummus
Ingredients
- 1 15-oz. can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 2–3 Tbsp. peanut butter*
- 2+ Tbsp. Sriracha**
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 2 small cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 Tbsp. honey (or maple syrup/agave for vegans!)
- salt+pepper
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 3–4 Tbsp. ice water
- 1 handful peanuts (salted or not), roughly chopped
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 handful cilantro leaves, chopped
- lime zest and juice, optional
Instructions
- Add chickpeas, peanut butter, Sriracha, ginger, garlic, honey/maple syrup/agave, and salt and pepper to taste into a food processor. Process until broken up. Scrape the sides with a spatula as needed.
- With the motor running, drizzle in olive oil and ice water. This will help the mixture come together and get super-smooth!
- Once the hummus is processed to your desired texture, taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
- Mix in peanuts, green onions, and cilantro with a spatula. Serve with tortilla chips and a squeeze of lime.
Notes
*I found 2 Tbsp. gave a perfect subtle “peanutty” flavor to the hummus. If you’d like a more pronounced peanut flavor, add in an extra Tbsp.
**Depending on your heat preferences, add in as much or as little Sriracha as your heart desires.
The ice water technique was taken from my girl, Jessica, @ How Sweet Eats.

I love my thai and peanut flavors…and of course hummus!!! Looks delish!!
I’ve never seen Game of Thrones and same here, I would laugh if someone said I would be a fan…but maybe I’ll have to give it a chance!
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Same here, Rebecca! I’m absolutely OBSESSED with peanut sauce! Definitely give GoT a chance – I never thought I’d like it, but I’m seriously counting down the days until the premier!

I know exactly what you mean about having a show that is a special thing between you and Mark! Dan and I have the same thing with a few shows and it feels like I’m cheating if I watch it without him. It’s just not as special! I can’t get into GoT for some reason, but everyone at work is obsessed and has weekly meetings to discuss the latest episodes haha! Can I still try this amazing recipe if I’m not a GoT fan?? Looks so good!
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
EXACTLY! I could never watch GoT without Mark…I think he might actually disown me ;) You can absolutely enjoy this hummus without being a fan – pinky-promise!

I made this hummus yesterday and it was so yummy! I served the hummus as a sauce/compliment to skewers made with turkey and some rosted peppers and zucchini. My 11 month old son adored the hummus when he got some!
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
SO happy you liked it, Sanna!! I’m glad it was such a crowd-pleaser!

So. Dumb question. What do you think this goes with the best? I’m thinking red pepper would be great with it, or crackers… got any other favourite veggies that go really well with this dip flavour?
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Definitely not a dumb question! Red pepper and crackers are great choices! I also like carrots, cucumber, and tortilla chips :)

Judy says
Delicious! I didn’t have lime for zest so I used about 1/2t of bottled lime juice. It was a great snack with pita crackers. I look forward to making this again when I have a whole lime on hand.

How do you think fresh ginger root would do in this? My ground ginger is probably expired, but I always keep fresh in the fridge.
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Hey, Kat! Absolutely you can use fresh ginger! I’d try a tablespoon of the fresh stuff here. Let me know if you give it a try!

Hello! I made this recipe for company I had over this weekend-end. I used fresh ginger. Wow, a winner recipe to keep and do again! Thanks!
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Oh that’s awesome, Denise! And I’m glad using fresh ginger worked :) 9 times out of 10, we have dried in the house, so that’s what I used in the recipe. Next time I have fresh on hand, I’ll definitely be trying it out. I’m so happy you guys liked it! :)
LaReesa says
How had I never thought of this before!? You’re a genius. Can’t wait to try. I think I might add a little coconut milk, too.

Oh LaReesa! I’m loving your idea to add coconut milk! I might just need to do that myself ;)
Linda smart says
Just curious,,,how long can I keep this
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Hey, Linda! I’d say a couple days in the fridge would be fine! But because there are no preservatives in there, I’d make sure to eat it fairly quickly!
Dc says
Just wanted to let you know I just made this hummus and it was DELICIOUS!!! I am not even a huge hummus fan, but Thai Peanut Hummus is a whole other story! Thanks for the great recipe.
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
I’m SO happy to hear that! You’re making me want to remake it this week. Maybe I should market it as “a hummus for non-hummus fans!” ;)
Nicole says
what kind of peanut butter do you use? All natural?
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
I do! My favorite is the organic Kirkland brand from Costco :) Trader Joe’s is really good, too!

Rachel says
I am doing a thai dinner party and would love to make this as an appertiser to have with some seaweed crackers. I have 7 adults coming over, do you think this would be enough? Or would I need to double the quantities?
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
That sounds like SO much fun, Rachel!! I’d suggest doubling the recipe. Leftovers will stay good in the fridge for a few days, too :) Let me know what you guys think!
Kelly says

Woo hoo! That makes me so happy, Kelly. I’m so glad you liked it! :)
Courtney says
I just made this, but with red curry paste instead of sriracha, which I can’t have because I’m allergic to vinegar. It was great even with the substitution!
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
That sounds amazing, Courtney! I’m so glad you liked it with the curry paste, which has become a new obsession of mine recently :)
Bri says
Love this idea I will definetely try it out. I too use hummus in my meals, just wondering what veggies you’d suggest to pair with this style of hummus.
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Thanks, Bri! You can use any kind of veggie you like, but I really like red pepper, carrots, and cucumbers :) Let me know if you try it out!

This made me so happy – SO excited you love this recipe as much as I do ;)
Stephanie says
How long does this hummus last in the fridge? Just wanted to check because this sounds perfect for prepping for the week and snacking on! Thanks! ?
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Hey, Stephanie! I’d say a few days. It probably won’t last an entire week, but I have no idea because I eat the whole batch in about two sittings. :)
G says
I’m sorry but after all the good comments, I was a little disappointed.
It tasted bland. I added juice from one lime, extra salt and olive oil and that made a big difference.
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
Sorry it didn’t work for you, but I’m glad you were able to tweak it for your tastebuds :)
Denise F. says
Absolutely love this recipe!
I made a large batch of Hummus from dried chickpeas, separated it into 3 portions and adapted this recipe to jazz up one of the 3.
Added everything but the peanut butter and garlic, as tahini & garlic were already in the original recipe. Will most definitely make again. Thank you for sharing!
Alexa [fooduzzi.com] says
YUM! So happy to hear that!

Corneal tattooing-keratopigmentation for eye color change guide
Keratopigmentation is performed by using a femtosecond laser. There are two main stages on this surgery. First, a corneal tunnel is created by cutting the cornea. Second, a colored substance is injected into this tunnel.Corneal tattooing provides a permanent color change. Actually, corneal tattooing has many years of use in patients who have corneal opacities or abnormalities that affect their looks.
Keratopigmentation does not change the natural pigments in the eye. On the contrary, it causes a false image. You must remember that ”mylumineyes laser eye color change procedure” uses a completely natural mechanism.
