A sauce you can use to dip, drizzle, dunk, or drink.
Yes, drink. It’s that good.
Happpppy, Monday!
Crazy Addictive Lemon Tahini Sauce. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
…I actually just spent 10 minutes trying to write an actual sonnet about this sauce that was based on this sonnet, and I couldn’t do it. That’s embarrassing.
Poetry? Not my thing. This sauce? Totally my thing.
I am a sauce and dip girl through and through. If we’re having dinner, you better believe I have at least two different sauces to go along with my meal. Dressings, vinegars, hot sauce, salsa, hummus…you name it. If it’s delicious and it will make what I’m eating delicious, I’m in.
I don’t have that many sauce posts on the blog right now, and that’s just because I typically write my sauce recipe and my meal recipe in the same post.
But this Lemon Tahini Sauce? Totally needed a post all on its own.
First thing to know? It seriously couldn’t be simpler.
I know I say that a lot, but I really really mean it this time. You put tahini, lemon juice, maple syrup or honey, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Whisk until smooth.
Boom. Done. Deliciousness is ready to devour.
If you couldn’t tell from above, you need only FOUR ingredients.
And I’m guessing you have most of them on-hand. Tahini might be the odd-ball out in that case, but it’s okay!
If you don’t know, tahini is just ground up sesame seeds. Think peanut butter made out of sesame seeds. It actually tastes a bit like peanut butter, but it definitely has a bitter note to it. I’m not a huge fan of it on its own. But when it’s in a sauce, like today…magic. You will experience magic before your very eyes tastebuds.
AND it’s versatile.
So versatile in fact, that I have TWO recipes coming up within the next week or so that use it. And they’re both SO different. One is Greekish and the other is…just really really good.
I also used it on top of my tacos for dinner last night! It’s like a more delicious sour cream. Truth.
Annnnnd I might have just kinda sorta eaten it by the spoonful. Once. Maybe.

If you couldn’t tell from this passionate post, you need this recipe in your life. It takes no time at all to throw together, and it’s good on virtually anything.
In fact, I just used it as a dip the other day. I had some raw veggies I needed to eat, so into the sauce they went.
Eat your veggies. Make this sauce.

This was SO good! Made it to accompany some hallomi, falafel, and shawarma spiced chicken, and it was the perfect sauce for all three. I added a little more tahini and maybe a half teaspoon more of garlic powder out of personal preference, but the recipe as is is amazing. Will definitely be making again – thanks!
