Are there any foods that you identify with your childhood?
For me, it’s nothing sweet, nothing gummy, nothing colorful, and nothing chocolaty. I was, and truthfully, still am, highly addicted to spicy foods as a young tot. I distinctly remember a photograph of my three-year-old-bowl-haircut self munching on pepperoncini at the dinner table. Adding spoonfulls of Delallo’s Hot Pepper Relish to my sandwiches was normal behavior for eight-year-old me. Frank’s was a welcomed guest at the dinner table throughout my childhood, as I would dump its beautifully red contents into eggs, chili, and everything in-between. Read More
Guys. It’s official: I’m obsessed with Netflix.
I’m a pretty big TV watcher. Regardless of what I’m doing, I almost always have the television on in the background. I wake up in the morning, flip on Food Network while I’m getting ready, keep it on when I’m doing homework or working on Fooduzzi, and watch it while I’m eating dinner. It’s mindless, and honestly, I only end up truly watching it about a quarter of the time anyway. Some may say that it rots brains, but silence is seriously deafening for me. Fooduzzi was always a figment of my imagination. “How cool would it be to have my own blog?” is what ran through my head as I poured over pages and pages of Oh She Glows, How Sweet It Is, Sally’s Baking Addiction, & Edible Perspective. Getting to write about something you’re passionate about? And having people actually read it? It all sounded too good to be true.

Moms are awesome. My mother is absolutely nuts, but it keeps things interesting.
In all honesty, I am ridiculously lucky to have a mom as wonderful as mine. She’s smart, hilarious, and the best role model I could ask for. And she has always given me some kick-butt advice.
For example, when I was younger, she was helping me study for a state capital test. You want to know how I still remember the capital of Kansas? She told me that you don’t want someone TO-PEK at you while you’re on the KAN (For all of you playing along at home, Topeka is the capital of Kansas).

Are there any foods that you just hate? I am quite a food lover, so when I talk about hating a food, the hatred sure does run deep. I have two in particular.
One will never grace the pages of this blog: Celery. I cannot stand the stringiness. I cannot stomach the bitter taste. And the texture totally freaks me out. I have some kind of hyper-sensitivity when it comes to that stuff; I taste it in Old Bay (bleh – celery salt), soups (horrible little chunks of the stuff), and green juices (why ruin such a good and healthy thing with the devil vegetable?). And I’ve heard it’s such a fantastic vehicle for my favorite food, peanut butter. Alas, celery always has been, and always will be, part of my “Food Axis of Evil.”
